Archives of Personal Memories

13 April 2018

The following installation places a viewer into an archive devoted to the memories of the artist, in particular through the vulnerable years of middle/high school. This archive closely follows a set up of a real archive, yet through the employment of subtle details, it creates a cosier atmosphere, similar to a personal library or a study. This relates to the intimate nature of the archive, which could be seen as a self-portrait. The artefacts are meaningful to me, although somewhat light-hearted in appearance, which ensures for an interesting dynamic between the artist, the artist's privacy and the viewer.
